Tallgrass/WAMPA Announce Lineup for this Year's Films Under the StarsWICHITA, Kan.-The Wichita Association for the Motion Picture Arts (WAMPA) and Tallgrass Film Festival today announced the film lineup for the 2009 Cinema Alfresco season. The series of films under the stars will take place at 8 p.m. Thursdays from May 28 through July 9 with the exception of June 18. All screenings are presented at The Brickyard, 129 North Rock Island, and are free of charge.

The 2009 Cinema Alfresco theme, "Roadside Attractions: It's the Journey, Not the Destination," includes films that feature brothers on a mission and sisters in crime, as well as the five-Oscar-winning classic It Happened One Night (1934) starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert, and the John Cusack favorite, The Sure Thing (1985). A complete season schedule follows.

Each feature film will be preceded by a short film that has been previously screened at the Tallgrass Film Festival. A drawing for a pair of All Access Passes to Tallgrass, (a $300 value), which is schedule for Oct. 22-25, 2009, will take place each week. Winners must be present to win.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with kitchen service available. Enter at east and west doors. Bring your ID. All ages are welcome, but attendees must be 21 or older to drink alcohol. Cinema Alfresco food and drink specials include $3 Tallgrass and Stella Artois draw beers, $3.50 Stella Artois bottles and $5 Brickyard burger and fry baskets.

Founded in 2003 by the late Timothy Gruver, the Tallgrass Film Festival is a program of the Wichita Association for the Motion Picture Arts (WAMPA), a non-profit 501©3 arts organization dedicated to entertaining and enlightening audiences from America's Heartland.
